It's time to get back on track!
It's been about a month since the A levels result came out. Everyone's busy with uni! Some got into uni, some even started uni already, some are still thinking: Where should I go?
For those who got into uni, congratulations!
Those who have started uni, all the best!
Those who are still thinking, better move quick! ;)
Universities...
Your folks may say... you know back in my time, we didn't have money for uni. I didn't go to uni myself, now I pay for you to study in uni you must do your best. Don't waste my money!
Or... I graduated uni with an outstanding result. You must do the same, don't embarrass me!
Or maybe... my child, now I'm sending you to uni. I wish you all the best, I hope you know what you're doing and how you will make the effort to cope in life and studies. Don't get too stressed out, it will break my heart and make me feel like I've made the wrong choice. Fly~ and be free~
No matter what they say, do know that it's all out of concern and with lots of love though it may not sound like it. Sometimes they just don't know what's the right words to use, the right way of putting it. Don't get mad at them, because it is them whom we depend on, it is them who give us the best they can give.
For us, as a student and a child, we must know that it is our duty to do well in our studies. Getting our parents to pay for our education but not doing the best we can to make full use of the money and opportunity that is given to us is not the way it should be. Put ourselves into their shoes, they could have used that amount of money to do something else, such as travel around the world, get the newest and hottest car, renovate the house, or buy a new house, there are so many things that they can do with those money but they choose not to, and it's all because of us. Are we going to do the same for our kids? We'll never know until it really hits us.
With all respects, I put it like this...
Kids are investments. For at least the first 20 years, you invest. Keep dumping money in, big or small amount. After that years, you start to receive your dividend, the right timing when you are retired, or about to retire. Your dividend will increase day by day, until you are retired and fully dependent on the kids, the dividend you get will then cover what you have invested. It gives benefits too, medical care, monthly allowance, everything covered. Now that, is some investment.
What if it's a bad investment?
Don't even think about what if, be a good investment! Would you rather be a juicy healthy apple? Or rotten apple with worms crawling in and out? Of course the good one! =) Or unless you wanna be the bitten apple, that's pretty awesome too! But remember, get bitten on the right hand side that looks like the one on apple products, not the left side that makes you look like the pirated ones. Like 1Malaysia key chain made in China.
By doing well in studies, it doesn't mean that we should give up on our social life. No! We need friends, who doesn't? But know what kind of friends to hangout with. Friends will either build you or break you. Be wise.
Take this opportunity to start anew! It is a second chance.
Your gears should be changed and upgraded by now.
Take it for a spin! Get your gears moving!
With all the love and care, all the best to you and your further education!
I wish you nothing but the best =)
